What's worth doing alongside the replacement
It makes sense to replace the shut-off valves, water meter assembly, mixer angle valves and, if needed, the sewage outlet at the same time. That way the whole assembly stays the same age and maintenance-free for longer.
Apartment buildings and housing associations
When the replacement affects a riser running through several floors, we draw up a schedule together with the association and agree access to neighbouring apartments in advance, so the water is off for as short a time as possible.
Choice of pipe material
For indoor water pipework in apartments and houses, we mainly use PPR, PEX and copper pipes. The choice depends on the shape of the pipework, access and water pressure: for hidden sections a solution with pressed or welded joints throughout works better, while pipework left exposed is easier to maintain later.

Frequently asked questions
- Does the whole apartment have to be without water during the work?
- The water is only off during the active part of the work. For larger replacements we split the job so that interruptions stay as short as possible.
- Do the walls need to be opened up?
- That depends on where the pipes run. If the pipework is hidden, a wall or tiles need to be partly opened for access — we discuss this before work begins.
- Do you pressure test the new pipework?
- Yes, the new pipework is pressure tested and checked for leaks before the connections are covered.
