What we pay attention to during installation

We check that the sink is level and the fixing will bear the load for years to come. The drain slope must be sufficient, otherwise standing water and odour build up in the siphon.

What to think through before ordering

• Sink dimensions and fit with the existing furniture or worktop
• Mixer tap hole location and basin type (top-mount or under-mount sink)
• Connection height and spacing on the wall if the location changes
• Siphon and drain compatibility if the vanity unit is also being replaced

Tightness and checks after installation

After connecting, we run water for an extended period and check the siphon, drain and mixer tap connection points. We seal the gap between the sink and the wall or worktop so water can't get into the furniture.

Apartment vs. private house

In an apartment the drain is usually fixed relative to the riser, and there's rarely much room to shift the new sink's location. In a private house or during a kitchen renovation there's more freedom to change the sink's location if the drain pipe can be extended accordingly.
