Jetting vs. clearing a blockage
Clearing a blockage solves the immediate problem, jetting prevents the next one. If your pipe blocks up regularly, planned jetting is more sensible in the long run than repeated emergency callouts.
Method and technique
We use a pressure hose, choosing the nozzle by pipe diameter and blockage type — one nozzle cuts through grease, another suits sediment. Water pressure and volume are adjusted so the pipe gets clean without damaging old or delicate material.
What to try yourself and what not to
- A minor blockage can be tried with hot water or a plunger
- Avoid strong chemicals in old metal or cast-iron pipes, they can damage the pipe
